As part of UCLan's Distinguished Visitor Programme, the University of Pittsburgh's Professor Paula Leslie will deliver her lecture 'Innovative Approaches to Postgraduate Clinical Education' at our Preston campus.
Professor Leslie has a highly acclaimed reputation for innovative practice in post-qualification clinical education.
She has a deep commitment to promoting research-informed clinical practice, and in mentoring experienced practitioners to gain new skills in applied clinical research, to enhance the quality of clinical decision-making and best practice dissemination in healthcare.
Paula led the development of a new Clinical MSc route at University of Newcastle, prior to being invited to launch a Clinical Science Doctorate at University of Pittsburgh.
The lecture will illustrate her dynamic approach to Research Informed Teaching, and her success in building skills and confidence through her clinical education model. This will draw together a wide range of UCLan academics with shared interests in postgraduate education and pedagogic research.
The lecture is open to staff across UCLan Schools, as well as to postgraduate students and all UCLan's local clinical education partners, thus enhancing the research environment.
