Over the last year the team at NHS Research & Development North West have developed a programme of work focussed on supporting NHS based early career researchers, specifically in the non-medical workforce.
They have run a number of workshops focussing on people undertaking a Master's in Clinical Research and the growing number of people working full-time in clinical practice whilst studying for a PhD on a part-time basis.
There is a small, but growing, community of people who have now completed their PhDs and have either returned to clinical practice or taken up a joint clinical/academic appointment which enables them to combine research with clinical practice.
The team are very keen to bring this group together to explore ways in which they can support this community and provide an opportunity for people to network with colleagues at a similar stage in their research career.
To further this programme the team are holding a networking event in Manchester on Wednesday 7th May from 2.30 – 5.00pm
Alongside exploring how to develop a community of post-doctoral researchers, there will also be really exciting plans about work they are proposing to undertake which they would like to share with you and gain your input into.
If you are able to attend this meeting please can email Leanne Gregory.
